The family had to flee their home in the southern suburbs of Lebanon\u2019s capital city as airstrikes fell. \u201cI came here as I\u2019m terrified from the war,\u201d Cilia said. \u201cThey are bombing a lot. I want them to stop bombing\u2026\u201d. She pauses for a moment and then asks, \u201cwhen will the war finish?\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">I came here as I\u2019m terrified from the war. They are bombing a lot. I want them to stop bombing<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">Cilia\u2019s grandmother explains that \u201cas soon as the children see an airplane, whatever it is, they fall apart and start crying and we get busy trying to console them.\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">\u201cFor the last seven days, they have been eating mainly bread. How do explain to a child what\u2019s happening in the country? How do children understand what\u2019s happening?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: left;\">For children across Lebanon, as well as death, injury and displacement, the escalation in hostilities has instilled an unimaginable fear in their daily lives. More than ever before they face the harsh reality of a life filled with uncertainty and violence.
