School is not just a place for academic learning—it’s an environment that shapes a child’s personality, self-confidence, and social skills. Sometimes, small mistakes by teachers or the school system can leave deep emotional wounds that last for years. Here are five mistakes my child experienced, and the lessons I learned:
1. Public humiliation in front of classmates
What may seem like discipline is actually a blow to the child’s dignity, making them afraid to participate.
2. Constant comparison to others
Telling a child, “Look at your friend, he’s smarter than you,” only creates feelings of inadequacy instead of motivation.
3. Ignoring individual talents
The school focused only on grades while neglecting his passion for art and music, making him believe his talents were worthless.
4. Dismissing his emotions
When he cried over something, he was told “Don’t exaggerate,” as if his feelings didn’t matter.
5. Lack of parent-school communication
Instead of a true partnership, communication was limited to complaints, widening the gap even more.
🔑 Key takeaway:
Children are not just minds to be filled with information—they are hearts and souls that need respect and care. What adults see as small mistakes can either build or break a child’s emotional well-being.
