The Disaster Management Unit has announced new displacement figures and distributed the addresses of shelter centers as the number of displaced people in Lebanon continues to rise amid escalating airstrikes and security tensions. Authorities are working to expand shelter facilities and provide essential services to affected families.
In its daily report, the unit stated that the total number of displaced people currently staying in shelter centers has reached 112,525 individuals, while the total number of displaced families stands at 26,163.
The unit also reported that it has distributed new addresses for shelter centers in order to better organize the reception process and direct displaced people to available facilities.
This development comes as relevant ministries are working to strengthen the humanitarian response to address the growing displacement crisis.
Earlier, Minister of Social Affairs Haneen Al-Sayed announced that shelter centers in northern Lebanon and Akkar are capable of accommodating additional displaced people, noting that the total capacity in those areas could reach 15,000 individuals.
She also revealed that the total number of displaced people who registered through the electronic relief platform has exceeded 454,000, indicating the widening scale of displacement as the escalation continues.
Meanwhile, official authorities and humanitarian organizations continue to provide food and essential assistance across various Lebanese regions, in coordination with local associations and international organizations, to ensure that no displaced person is left without shelter or basic support during this sensitive period.
